In 2013, Bernd Roggendorf stepped down as CTO of his successful tech company to pursue an urge to improve the world more profoundly and more radically. To understand the plight of the underprivileged, his wife and two kids (3 and 5 years old at the time) spent 3 months living in the largest slum in Africa: Kibera. This is where EIDU was born.
